Easy Violin Step by Step Tutorial - You Raise Me Up, Part 6

This violin tutorial on the song, "You Raise Me Up" requires no music reading. There are 7 step by step videos of violin instruction in which I first prepare you with scales and exercises to practice and then teach you the song on your violin note by note. This version of "You Raise Me Up" for violin is for beginner violin players who don't yet read music.

This series will be released a few videos each day. Please focus on the available videos and practice the material thoroughly. I build on each previous video so feel free to watch each portion many times as you memorize the notes and master the violin playing techniques.

In video 6:

0:06 Beginning the chorus of "You Raise Me Up". Play through the first section. Discussion of specific notes in this part.
0:45 Watch out for the descending sequence on A: 3 - 2, etc as going down can cause 2nd finger to want to play next to 3rd finger but it needs to play low (next to where 1st finger will go)
1:00 Next portion of chorus phrase. Starts the same but has a hopping 3.
1:19 Putting the 2 portions of the chorus together, with verbal coaching as I play.
1:53 New segment, skipping fingers. This portion ends with a hop back to E2 at 2:13
2:14 The final few notes of the chorus, starting with D3 that hops to A.
2:50 Return to beginning of chorus, putting it all together. I play and call out verbal cues with tiny pauses so you can play along.
