What is ID and class in HTML?
ID and Class selectors are the most widely used element selectors in CSS (HTML). The basic difference between ID and Class is that the ID selector is applied only to one element in a page, whereas the class selector can be applied to several elements on a single page.
Yes, any HTML element (like div, input, nav, body, etc) can have both “id” and “class” together and at the same time. The only difference here is that “id” can have only one unique value and “class” can have more than one.
The HTML class attribute specifies one or more class names for an element. Classes are used by CSS and JavaScript to select and access specific elements. The class attribute can be used on any HTML element. The class name is case sensitive.
What is difference between ID and class?
While an ID is specific to a single element, classes can be assigned to multiple elements on a page or throughout the website. They are not unique. And while a single element can only have one ID, it can have multiple classes.
The HTML ID attribute is used to uniquely identify an element on a DOM. No two elements on a page can have the same IDs. HTML Class attribute collectively represents a group of elements on a DOM. Multiple elements may have the same class.
