Cheat Engine Tutorial

Basic Tutorial for flash games.

This tutorial will show you how to hack into a simple game such as Heli Attack 3 and change desired values.

First click the computer icon in the top left of the cheat engine window. Icon then process list. Find the program you are currently using. Whether that be a browser, or flash game. Iexplorer.exe, firefox.exe etc.

Find the value you wish to change in the game; money, ammunition, score etc. For this video I will be using, ammunition.

Current ammunition; 7. For the majority of games you are required to multiply the value by 8. However, sometimes you may come across games that do not require this. Some may require you to times it by antoher number or not at all. 7*8 = 56. Enter this under value and click First Scan.

We now have a list of values and addresses. You must now change the value in the game by at least one.

Now multiply the new value by 8. 6*8 = 48. Enter this under value and click next scan.

We are now left with only 1 value. In some cases you may be left with more than 1. Do not do the next step if there are more than 15 values remaing as it may freeze your game. If you have more than 15 values, keep changing the value and scanning again unitl the number of values is reduced. Double click the remaing address/addresses, then double click under value for each. Alternatively you can hold shift then click the top value then click the bottom value.

You may now change the value to any number you wish, I would not recommend changing it to a number with more than 7-8 digits or else the game will freeze up.

When you go back to your game you should find your value changed as this one has.

The value has been changed to 6247. Remeber it has been divided by 8.
There are other options for changing values such as freezing them. This means your ammunition will stay at the value of your choice without changing. Producing effects in this game like automatic a-bomb launchers and dark hole generators with no reload time. To do this simply check the freeze button on the address, change the value to 1 and when your in game fire your weapon. Once you fire your character will switch weapons, this is because the game thinks you just used the final clip. Swap back and fire again. Repeat. This only works for heli attack though.

NOTE: When I said "To do this simply check the freeze button on the address, change the value to 1 and when your in game fire your weapon." I mean change it to the equivalent of 1 (ie. 8).
