Cube Amigurumi Crochet Tutorial

In this video tutorial, I am using Stylecraft Special DK yarn, and crochet hook size 5/0 – 3mm.

ABBREVIATIONS
(US Crochet Terms)

MR: Magic Ring
st(s): stitch(es)
sl st: slip stitch
ch: chain
sc: single crochet
3sc: 3 single crochet in one space
sc3tog: decrease 3 single crochet into one
[#]: number of stitche(s) in a round

We will need:
Yarn
Crochet hook
Stitch markers 4 pcs
Tapestry needle
Scissors
Poly-fil (or any fiber filling)

Note: Join with slip stitch. Use stitch marker to mark each corner of a square.

PATTERN:

In a Magic Ring, sc 8. Join with slip stitch.
Mark 4 corners of a square.
Next, ch 1, (sc, 3sc) repeat 4 times. Put marker in the middle of 3sc to mark the corner. Join with slip stitch and ch 1.
Next, we will make sc on each stitch and 3sc on each corner.
After reaching the size of square that we want, continue to make the sides of a cube.

Ch 1. Working in the back loops only, sc in each stitch around. Join with sl st and ch 1.
* (Next, working in both loops, sc in each stitch around. Join with sl st and ch 1) repeat.

Next we will close the cube.
Put markers on each corner (count the stitches between markers)
Start closing the cube. Working the back loops only. Sc3tog on each corner. Insert the Poly-fill.
Next, working in both loops, sc in each stitch and sc3tog for each corner. Continue until the cube closed.

Cut the yarn. Fasten off.
