Welcome to the PTZOptics Wireless Cable Basic Setup Video. The PTZOptics Wireless Cable is a 400 Meter (1,300 feet) wireless Ethernet solution with daisy-chaining capabilities which can provide increased distances of up to 1,600 meters or 5,249 feet. This low latency wireless solution can be paired with any device that utilizes a LAN connection and can provide up to 300 Megabits of wireless transmission bandwidth. With a paired Station & Access Point, you can connect any device to your network wirelessly. Please reference our advanced setup video in the description below, for more information about a daisy-chain setup. This basic setup video will only review the plug and play setup of a single pair of Wireless Cables.

The first thing to do when you receive your PTZOptics Wireless Cable is read through the included manual. Each set of PTZOptics Wireless Cables comes with an Access Point and Base Station pre-paired together. Therefore each set is pre-configured for plug and play use with no technical networking setup required.

Depending on the PTZOptics Wireless Cable SKU you have ordered, you should have one box per access point and one box per station. Each box includes one Wireless Cable unit, one 3 foot (or 1 meter) ethernet cable, one power supply, one base plate, and four antennas. Once you have read through the manual, you can start setting up your units by attaching each antenna to your base unit and access point. Remove the red plastic protection covers from each antenna port. Screw each antenna into the antenna ports located at the top of each unit. You will notice two quarter-twenty tripod attachment ports you can use to mount the unit to a Tripod. You can also choose to mount your WirelessCable to the included base station for each unit to sit on a flat surface.

Each WirelessCable unit features an on/off switch, an ethernet port and LED indicator lights. Start by plugging your WirelessCable units into power. You will immediately see the “Power” Indicator turn on. The “Link” LED indicator will start to blink indicating that the unit is searching for a connection. Once you have plugged in your second WirelessCable unit, the “Link” LED indicator will stop blinking indicating that the units have been successfully paired.

You can now plug one WirelessCable unit into your computer or local area network and the other WirelessCable unit into a camera or extended PoE network. This is literally all you need to do to setup your Wireless Cable Units.

If you would like to add another WirelessCable to your setup for use in Infrastructure or Daisy-Chain mode, please refer to our advanced setup video. You can add an additional three (3) units to your first pair to handle a total of five (5) wirelessly connected devices. You can daisy chain up to five (5) units to obtain a maximum transmission distance of 5,200 feet or almost one (1) full mile which is 1,600 meters. WirelessCable daisy chaining capabilities as well as adding additional units will be discussed in our advanced product setup video.
