How to Install WordPress Using cPanel

Now that I've been forced on multiple occasions to install WordPress on servers using cPanel, cPanel is possibly the most complete package offered by hosting companies.
Here is the quick step by step process that should allow you to install WordPress on a server using cPanel.
Step 1: Getting the WordPress file

Download the latest WordPress at http://wordpress.org/download/
It is zipped so unzip it and save to a folder where you will be working on it.
Step 2: Configuring cPanel for WordPress Installation

Login into your site's cPanel. (Usually http://www.yoursite.com/cpanel)
- Click MySQL Database Wizard icon in the Databases section
It will ask to create a name for your database. You can use any name, just remember the name.
- Create a database user. For simplicity call the user admin and assign them "all privileges". Use a strong password. Click next and you are done the configuring of cPanel. Write down the hostname, username, databasename, and the password
Step 3: Preparing the WordPress files for upload

In the WordPress folder there will be a file name wp-config-sample change the name to wp-config then open it in a text editor like notepad.
Under the part where it says:
// ** MySQL settings - You can get this info from your web host ** //

Use the information from part 2 to fill in the following fields:
DB_NAME (name of your database)
DB_USER (username for database)
DB_PASSWORD (password for database)
The rest of the fields you don't need to touch. After you make the changes save your files.
Step 4: Uploading your WordPress files

When you upload your files you must decide whether you want a site completely done in WordPress or a site where WordPress is an add on, for example a blog feature. For a complete WordPress site you upload all the WordPress files and folders inside the WordPress folder to your server's root directory. To create a blog with WordPress create a folder in your root directory entitled blog and upload the files to it.
Step 5: Running WordPress Install Script

If you chose to upload the files to a folder, visit http://www.yoursite.com/foldername/wp-admin/install.php to run the script.

If you chose to upload the files to your root directory, visit http://www.yoursite.com/wp-admin/install.php to run the script.
