This is my first Sony Vegas project and it was quite a challenge for me because I was so used to Ulead. I didn't use a lot of effects, just some crossovers and masking because I felt that they were unnecessary. 5 cm per second is one of Makoto Shinkai's masterpieces and the animation is simply breathtaking! It is about a long distance relationship and emphasis is laid on the characters' emotions and their feelings.

I wanted to make this video from Takaki's (the main character) point of view. He and Akari are best friends in Elementary school and when she moves away they keep writing to each other. Time passes and he still loves her even when he is older. The "world spins madly on" as a background to their love story.

This video is dedicated to Randy, my Love whom I met here on Youtube and we have been inseparable ever since! Randy, I love you with all my heart and always will!!!! I am counting the days till we meet each other again! Te iubesc!!!
