Welcome to my channel, dedicated to showcasing the mesmerizing sounds of steel tongue drums. In this video, we will be introducing the Tongue Pan Klanggeist Arkade.

The Tongue Pan is meticulously crafted in Germany and constructed using a combination of chrome, nyckel, and stainless steel materials. With a weight of 5.5 kg (11 lbs) and a diameter of 51 cm (20.5"), this drum offers a substantial presence and resonant sound.

Featuring a hexatonic scale in the key of A minor, the Tongue Pan produces the harmonious tones of D, F, A, C, D, E, F, G, and A. The scale is well-suited for a variety of musical compositions and instruments, as it primarily utilizes root notes (equivalent to white piano keys). The Tongue Pan boasts nine tongues, providing ample opportunities for creative expression.

The drum's stainless steel surface not only adds an appealing aesthetic, but it also contributes to its overall sound quality. The Tongue Pan is finished with meticulous attention to detail and incorporates a dampening concept, enhancing the purity of the tongue sound.

Playing the Tongue Pan is accessible, thanks to its hexatonic scale that strikes a balance between simplicity and complexity. With the inclusion of one half-tone interval (E-F), this drum highlights the moody characteristics of the Minor D tone sequence.

SOUND:

The sound in this video was edited different ways: I cut out all the unnecessary low frequencies below 80Hz to get rid of the humming from our heater and furthermore added some reverb.
