Final Fantasy VII Ruby Weapon Guide

This video is a step-by-step guide on how to beat Ruby Weapon. The guide is intended for players who have already reached disk 3 and have already took the time to level up their characters and their materia to end game levels. In this video the step-by-step commentary is strictly tied to the live action being shown and provides instructional and educational value.

Ruby Weapon has 1,000,000 HP and is considered by many to be the hardest enemy in the game.

There are multiple strategies for beating Ruby Weapon, this video will show you two of them. Both of them are easy to utilize but require high level characters and materia.

The first method requires three W-Summon materias, three mastered Knights of the Round materia, three W-Item Materias, three mastered Revive materias, and three mastered Final Attack materias. Equip these materias onto each of your characters and pair the Revive and Final Attack materia together. Make sure you have plenty of Dazers and Megalixers in your inventory and put them as the top two items so they will be easy to use in battle. Dazers can be stolen from Boundfats which are located in Corral Valley near The Forgotten City. Equip each character with a Ribbon. If you do not have three Ribbons you can Morph a Tonberry into one, they can be found in the Swamp area of the Northern Cave. You should also equip your characters with Fire Armlets or some other armor that nullifies or drains fire attacks. An alternative to Ribbons and Fire Armlets are pairing the Hades materia and Added Effect materia as well as pairing a Fire materia with an Elemental materia in your armor.

The basic strategy is to alternate between using W-Item (Dazers on Ruby, Megalixers on your party) and W-Summon (two Knights of the Round). Do that ad nauseum and you shouldn’t have a problem.

The second method is a very simple, no button pushing, method. Make sure your two support characters are KO’d. Equip Cloud with a mastered Revive materia paired with a mastered Final Attack materia, a mastered Knights of the Round materia paired with another Final Attack materia, another mastered Knights of the Round paired with another mastered Final Attack, an HP Plus materia, and an HP-MP materia. Enter the battle then sit back and watch.
