Exporting Cross Section Data along Alignment

Exporting cross-section data along the alignment is made simple with the section module of ESurvey CADD. Levels present in the cross-section can be ported along the alignment in plan drawing in CAD, first, you need to import the alignment line and then you can populate the Cross-Section Levels along the alignment.

Hello everybody, welcome to a video session on exporting Cross-section along an alignment.
To export cross-section data as levels in AutoCAD, Select ‘Export Data’ from the tools menu. Select ‘To CAD’ in ‘Export’ dropdown. Click on the Export button. Now data have got stored in a temporary location.

Open CAD Package, Select ‘Import Alignment Data’ from Section Submenu of ESurvey CAD Menu and select the alignment line. You may note that all the cross-section data gets populated along the alignment line.

If cross-sections are not starting from ‘0’ value, then you may note that data may not get imported indicating that the alignment is shorter than the Cross-Section value. Say, if you have a cross-section from 10,000 and if your alignment is just 1000 M, then the data will not get imported. The program will first try to find chainage 10,000 in alignment line and will not find it. In such cases, draw a dummy line of 10,000 M and join with the alignment line at starting vertex point and then import the data.
