In this Postman tutorial i'll take you through getting setup and making your first Postman GET request.

In this video i'll take you through getting setup with the Postman app, how to get around and also sending your first GET request.

This is the first video in the Junior Developer Central "How to use Postman" series.

In the tutorial, once we're setup with Postman i'll take you through a really simple PHP script that completes a simple task. The result that the API gives back is fairly unimportant as we just need to send a Postman GET request to check if it's working and we receive the right data.

Although it's a pretty basic task, we can see some further information returned to us in the Postman app. You can examine headers, status codes and much more which i'll point out to you as we work through the tutorial.

Whilst it might make that much sense to send these types of requests through Postman, it serves as a simple introduction to the app and you can get an understanding of the process works and what Postman is used for.

Once you've completed your setup and sent your first GET request you will have an understanding of how API testing can be performed - especially if you want to start working these kinds of tests into your integration suite.
