C# Random class provides functionality to generate random numbers in C#. The Random class can also generate other data types including strings.

Represents a pseudo-random number generator, which is an algorithm that produces a sequence of numbers that meet certain statistical requirements for randomness.

Random class constructors have two overloaded forms. It takes either no value or it takes a seed value. The Random class provides Random.Next(), Random.NextBytes(), and Random.NextDouble() methods. The Random.Next() method returns a random number, Random.NextBytes() returns an array of bytes filled with random numbers, and Random.NextDouble() returns a random number between 0.0 and 1.0.

The Random.Next() method has three overloaded forms and allows you to set the minimum and maximum range of the random number

Pseudo-random numbers are chosen with equal probability from a finite set of numbers. The chosen numbers are not completely random because a mathematical algorithm is used to select them, but they are sufficiently random for practical purposes. To generate a cryptographically secure random number, such as one that's suitable for creating a random password, use the RNGCryptoServiceProvider class or derive a class from System.Security.Cryptography.RandomNumberGenerator.
