Free Getting Started with Microsoft DevOps - [DEMO] Get Started with GitHub

In this demo you are going to setup a new GitHub repository, and synchronize (push) data from the local repository you created earlier.

Notes about following along:
- You will need to sign up for a personal GitHub account at https://github.com
- If you skipped the earlier Git demo, you may wish to fork the ausemartweb repo instead (https://github.com/jamesdplee/ausemartweb/fork), but you will not be able to perform the synchronize steps (git remote add / git push)
- The repo you create in this demo will be used in the upcoming build/deploy demo
- You will need a git credential helper (https://docs.github.com/en/get-started/getting-started-with-git/about-remote-repositorie #cloning-with-https-urls) installed such as GCM (https://github.com/GitCredentialManager/git-credential-manager), or you must use a PAT
- If you wish to use a PAT, refer to the GitHub help (https://docs.github.com/en/authentication/keeping-your-account-and-data-secure/creating-a-personal-access-token) and use this as your password from git

Commands/Resources:
- Set your local repo remote to GitHub: git remote add origin YOUR-GIT
- Push the local repo to GitHub: git push -u origin main
- In future, you can omit -u origin main and just type git push
- Fork the repo if you skipped the earlier demo: https://github.com/jamesdplee/ausemartweb/fork
- If you login to multiple GitHub repos with other credentials, you may wish to adjust your global configuration: git config --global credential.github.com.useHttpPath true
