PostgreSQL Deployment Demo with Portworx Data Services

Portworx Data Services equips users with the ability to deploy and manage a variety of different databases and message queues to Kubernetes clusters. This video will walk you through the deployment of PostgreSQL to Kubernetes through the Portworx Data Services UI.
Modern applications are often distributed and use more than one type of database as backing services. With more and more databases being consumed by applications, we need better tools to manage their application life cycles, patching routines, scaling procedures, and monitoring tasks. Portworx Data Services (PDS) provides customers a centralized control plane to manage data services deployed to Kubernetes clusters. By using Kubernetes as a standardized platform, databases can be deployed and managed across cloud providers or on-premises data centers in the same fashion, through a centrally managed solution like Portworx Data Services.

In this demo, we explore how simple it is to deploy a PostgreSQL database to our Kubernetes cluster. Once it's been deployed, we'll walk through some day 2 operations for our PostgreSQL database such as scaling the cluster to handle additional nodes, upgrade the cluster in a rolling fashion as to not incur a service outage, and take a backup of our database for data protection. By the end of this short demo, you should see the power that Portworx Data Services can provide through the self-service UI or API.
