This is part 1 of a giant Microsoft Excel tutorial that will take you from Excel novice to spreadsheet superstar. In this tutorial, we introduce Excel and get you started with the basics.

During this Microsoft Excel 2016 training tutorial video for beginners, you will learn some of the Excel basics, including how to personalize Excel using Excel Options.

We will show you how to set up your own username, how to customize the office background and theme, how to modify the user interface options, how to set a default file location, and how to add and change editing languages in Excel.

Familiarize yourself with the Excel Ribbon with its different tabs, commands, and controls. We will show you how commands in Excel become enabled/disabled, how to hide/unhide the Ribbon, how to use key tips, and how to customize the Ribbon.

We will show you where to find the Quick Access toolbar, what are the available buttons, and how to add and remove buttons according to your own preference and usage. You will also learn how to customize the Quick Access Toolbar in the Excel Options, as well as how to reset it to its default setting.

We will look at what is a contextual menu and a mini toolbar. We will also demonstrate how to make a smaller version of a mini toolbar appear, as well as how to enable the touch version of the mini toolbar and contextual menu.

Finally, we will take a quick look at the status bar and how to customize it. We will show you what things you can find in the status bar, including the different page views, as well as how to enable or disable controls.
