Lateral Flow Test Tutorial

Within your test kit, you would have received four items. These are a testing device within a foil pouch, a swab stick, an extraction buffer tube solution, and a nozzle cap.

The first two steps to do when preparing for your test are to go and wash your hands with soap and water or use an alcohol-based gel. You then need to blow into a tissue to get rid of any nasal discharge.

You then want to remove your testing device from the foil pouch by peeling it back. When removing the testing device, ensure that your testing device has not been damaged. You then place this onto a flat surface.

With your swab stick, you can see that there are two ends to it, you have your cotton bud tip, and you have your handle. When opening it, ensure that you are peeling it back from the handle side and that you avoid touching the cotton bud tip.

Remove it from the sheath gently. You then want to tilt your head slightly backward and then insert it into the nostril. You should feel some slight tension. Once you have, you need to rotate it three to four times.

This process should last about 15 seconds. Once you have done this, remove the swab stick and place it into the other nostril and rotate it again three to four times. Remove it from the nostril, and then pick up your extraction buffer tube solution.

You then want to peel back the foil cap and place your swab stick into the solution. You then rotate the swab stick about five times. Again, this process should last about 15 seconds. Once you have done this, when removing the swab stick, it is important to squeeze the sides of the extraction buffer solution tube to ensure that you get all the solution out of the cotton bud tip.

Then place it back onto the sheath. With the nozzle cap, you place it on top of the extraction buffer tube, ensuring that it’s on tightly.

You then pick up your testing device, and as you can see, there’s a specimen well. With the solution tilting it slightly, you want to place three drops of this into that specimen well. Once you have done this, place the testing device onto a flat surface and wait 15 to 30 minutes.

Ihr Testkit enthält einen Beutel mit Teststreifen, einen Abstrichtupfer, ein Röhrchen mit Extraktionspuffer sowie einem Verschlussstopfen.

Als Erstes bereiten Sie sich auf Ihren Test vor indem Sie sich gründlich die Hände mit Wasser und Seife waschen oder ein Desinfektionsgel benutzen. Vor dem Test sollten Sie sich ebenfalls die Nase putzen.

Nun entnehmen Sie bitte den Test aus dem Beutel und vergewissern Sie sich dass er nicht beschädigt wurde. Legen Sie ihn auf eine flache Unterlage.

Bei der Entnahme des Abstrichtupfers achten Sie bitte darauf das Sie nicht den Wattetupfer berühren sondern nur den Griff.

Entnehmen Sie den Tupfer vorsichtig aus der Hülle. Mit zurück gelehntem Kopf führen Sie den sterilen Abstrichtupfer in das Nasenloch ein. An der Rückwand des Nasenrückenraums drehen Sie den Tupfer 3-4 Mal.

Dieser Vorgang dauert circa 15 Sekunden. Entnehmen Sie den Abstrichtupfer und führen Sie ihn nun in das andere Nasenloch und wiederholen den Vorgang. Anschließend wird der Abstrichtupfer in das Röhrchen hineingesteckt.

Dazu entfernen Sie bitte den Verschluss der Lösung und drehen den Abstrichtupfer darin 5 Mal herum für circa 15 Sekunden. Beim Herausziehen des Abstrichtupfers achten Sie bitte darauf die Seiten des Röhrchen so zusammenzudrücken das die Flüssigkeit vollständig aus dem Wattekopf heraustritt.

Verschließen Sie das Röhrchen fest mit dem Verschlussstopfen.

Auf Ihrem Teststreifen sehen Sie eine Vertiefung, in diese wird die Testflüssigkeit hinein getropft. Sie können den Teststreifen etwas anheben und dann 3 Tropfen darauf geben. Danach legen Sie den Teststreifen bitte wieder auf eine flache Unterlage und warten 15 bis 30 Minuten.
