To add web push notifications functionality on your WordPress website, you need to install the OneSignal Plugin. Then, for the OneSignal WordPress setup put the App ID, API Key and Safari Web ID from onesignal.com. Then, push notification will be activated on your site.

So, after that, when visitor first comes to your website they can see a notification prompt which ask them to send notifications. If they click allow button, then, they can receive notification form you website. you can customize the notification title, notification message, icons, images and everything.

When you create a new post you can send notifications to all of your subscribers to bring them to read your article. And this push notifications will work on both desktop and phones.

You can see the notification data from the OneSignal analytics like how many people click on your notification, how many subscribers you have currently, how many people unsubscribed form you and more.

From the OneSignal dashboard you can also send notification at any time. You can create segmentation of your user and specifically send notification to them. You can also schedule and personalize your notification delivery time.
