Muse - Starlight - Drum Cover

This is a really, really ROUGH cover. At number 11, it's this one. This was rough for a few reasons. First of all, the upper half of my face is gone. The tripod was re-positioned for another Muse cover I'm working, but I didn't get that one sounding good for this week. So, I tried to get this one in working order, and it's.... meh.

The timing is rough, a few parts are very noticeably played badly. My general thoughts on this song is that although it's fairly straightforward in what you play, playing it in time is very tricky for me. I never incorporated my left foot in keeping time at all when I first started learning drums, and it's pretty much persisted like that until I started to learn this one. I saw a few other covers on YouTube where the drummers either don't even bother with the hihat, or they just do quarter notes on it, which is really what I should have done. As I refuse to quantize anything, this is what you get. Also, my regular hihat stand broke a few weeks ago, and I'm still getting used to the one that came with the kit. It sucks because the old one only had 2 leg stands, whereas this one has 3. It's very cramped where my left foot rests. I'll probably redo this down the line.

Anyways, should things go well, we'll have a few weeks of Muse songs lined up for covers. Enjoy! (or don't, wouldn't blame you for this one)
