[OLD]Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead Error FIX

I no longer know if this fix works. Since this was posted there have been tons of updates released and what not. I NO longer know if this works. So if you still want to try it do so at your own risk

If you get these errors when opening Arma2: OA

no 'bin\config.bin/cfgingameui/mptable.shadow'.

Error compiling pixel shader PSSpecularAlpha:0

Many people say to shut steam down and launch as an admin. Go into the properties of the games and go to Local Files, and click Verify integrity of game cache.

Sometimes this doesn't work because it's a problem with your registry. What you want to do is

First place this code

-mod=C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\Common\A­rmA 2;EXPANSION;ca
****Note that if your Arma2 is installed on another hard drive your directory to the game will be different****

Into your launch options for arma2. It will let you open arma2 without previous error but it will say something about a wrong key being entered apon install. Don't worry continue on with the steps and your game should work again.

1 open up RUN
2 type in Regedit
3 double-click HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
4 double-click Software
5 double-click Wow6432Node
6 Look for Bohemia Interactive Studio and double-click
7 First try to delete Arma 2 & Arma 2 OA Files
8 If that doesn't work come back to that spot
9 Right-click on Arma 2 OA
10 click on Permissions
8, Left-click YOUR USER, NOT! Users
9, After selecting your user click on Advanced
10, Yet Again click on your username for your pc and click on edit
11, In the drop down menu select This Key and Subkeys
12, You will see allow and deny make sure all allow boxes are ticked then click ok
13, you will be taken back one Dialogue box, Click Apply and OK and the same again on the
next dialogue box.
14, Now you should see 4 files sat in your ArmA 2 OA folder, Names, "(Default)" "Data" "Key" & "main"
15, Now play your game hassle free
