Welcome to this Upsolver presentation, where we’re going to replicate a PostgreSQL database in Upsolver using our CDC connector to create a query-ready copy of your database and some or all of its tables in your data lake.

The first step is to select PostgreSQL as a change-data-capture data source. We’ve gone ahead and filled in all the fields for you. So let’s go ahead and preview the tables that are available.

Here you see the available tables, and the blue check mark means we have selected them.

Let’s go ahead and continue, and we can see PostgreSQL CDC data movement into Athena. Here on our monitoring page you can see the status. Right now it’s just started so nothing’s been moved over, so it’s going to take a few minutes.

Let’s check for any errors while we’re at it. The errors tab will show any possible errors.

And we’re clean, so let’s go ahead and jump over to Athena and take a look at what’s going on.

Here you see the cdc_table that we set up in Upsolver. This table is not for querying, however. Instead, we can query the views as the CDC data is streaming in.

We’re going to go ahead and run a simple query to select everything out of the split_table_public.
All this data looks clean. We’re good. And it was that simple.
