About SimpleTree Part 1

This introduction video shows toptological ordered tree models consisting of cylinders from a French NFI plot.

About SimpleTree:

SimpleTree is a free open source plugin made for forestry purposes lisenced under GPLv(3). It was written and developed by myself during the German Sino Phd project Lin2Value:

The plugin runs under the open source forestry related platform Computree developed by Alexandre Piboule and Michael Krebs. Other free plugins developed by other scientists exists as well. Computree is designed to serve as a dedicated platform spezialized for forest inventory as well as forest management purposes.

I hope you like my tool, I am trying to produce a version named SimpleForest following clean code standards and better design prinicples with updated algorithms, but this is without warranty.

The current version of SimpleForest source code can be found at Github:

You still need access to Computre source code via the earlier named platform link to be able to compile and execute as is.

SimpleTree models also can be exported in ply polygon format and can be enriched with aritificial leaves and rendered in other free tools like blender surving as visual models for computer games and film industry.
