It’s been a long winter over on the West Coast. With 67 days of rain and over 600 inches of snowfall in Lake Tahoe, California has never been more ready to have its beautiful clear blue skies and sunny 70’s temperatures back. Lucky for us we turned our clocks back on Saturday and with it we also got the dreamy weather we’ve been waiting for for so long now. But there’s one important element that is a necessity to truly enjoying the California weather and longer days, and that would be the music I blast through my speakers and out my open windows. So what band do I choose as the perfect final touch for my California afternoons? Great Gable. Maybe it’s because they’re from Australia that they know exactly what us Californians crave, but they sure as hell have got it down.

Alex Whiteman (vox), Matt Preen (guitar), Callum Guy (skins), & Chris Bye (bass) debuted their first EP, “GG”, in 2016 and since then have built a steady following, nowadays playing sold out show after sold out show in their home country. After taking a listen to “Punga”, it becomes obvious why their shows keeping selling out with each of their songs unique and masterfully crafted together. You can hear and feel the passion, love, and dedication these Pertha fellas have for music behind each song they produce.

Only being on the scene for 3 years now, there’s not much information out there about Great Gable. Of course that doesn’t matter though because the most important thing you need to know about the band is the music they create. Whether it’s on your commute home today or in the comfort of your living room, or with Spotify or Apple Music, I ask that you take the time to throw on a few of their songs and not only hear how great this band is but feel it. And I hope that Great Gable brings you what it brought to me - that necessary final element to enjoying the clear blue California skies and warmer weather.
