This is the very first video in this java programming series. It covers the following concepts
What Is Java?
Java is a programming language and a computing platform first released by Sun Microsystems in 1995
Java is a specification which should be followed by the programmer, server developers, and database vendors
Java is a high level, robust, 100 % object-oriented, and secure programming language.
From laptops to datacenters, game consoles to scientific supercomputers, cell phones to the Internet, Java is everywhere!

History of Java Programming Language:
It was developed by James Gosling at Sun Microsystems and released in 1995.
Java was originally designed for interactive television, but it was too advanced technology for the digital cable television industry at the time.
START:1991
Green Team at sun microsystem, initiated a green project to develop a language for digital devices such as set-top boxes, televisions, etc. on the other hand, it was suited for internet programming.
After that, it was called Oak and was developed as a part of the Green Project. they used the name Oak because Oak is a symbol of strength and chosen as a national tree of many countries like the U.S.A., France, Germany, Romania, etc.
But Oak was already a trademark by Oak Technologies.
The team gathered to choose a new name. The suggested words were "dynamic", "revolutionary", "Silk", "jolt", "DNA", etc.
They wanted something that reflected the essence of the technology: revolutionary, dynamic, lively, cool, unique, and easy to spell and fun to say.
According to James Gosling, "Java was one of the top choices along with Silk". Since Java was so unique, most of the team members preferred Java than other names.
JAVA is an island of Indonesia where the first coffee was produced.
Java name was chosen while having coffee near the gosling office.

Java Standard Edition (J2SE): It includes core topics like OOPs, String, Exception, Inner classes, Multithreading, I/O Stream, Networking, AWT, Swing, Reflection, Collection, etc.

Java Enterprise Edition (J2EE): It is an enterprise platform that is mainly used to develop web and enterprise applications. It is built on the top of the Java SE platform. It includes topics like Servlet, JSP, Web Services, EJB, JPA, etc.

Java Micro Edition(J2ME): It is a micro platform which is mainly used to develop mobile applications.
