Cuboid Classification Part 3a: 5x5x9 Shapeshifter Tutorial

So now we've left the valley of the Domino's and find ourselves in Shapeshifter land! These are any cuboids of the form NxNx(N+P) where P is any even number. Since that means the N+P side is always two off from the N side, then they have the same odd or even function. This means you can do 90 degree rotations on all sides and hence shapeshift! But have no fear, just treat it like any other puzzle that turns 90 degrees in all directions, such as a cube.
And that's exactly how to approach this and other puzzles like it, such as the 3x3x5, 5x5x7, 2x2x4, 4x4x6 and any others of the same form. Solve it like a cube of the lowest order. In this case, as a 5x5x5.
In this first part, I'm simply doing a 5x5x5 solve, complete with center and edge reduction to a 3x3x3, and then solving it as a 3x3x3 to get it back to the cuboid form.
By the end, layers 1, 4, 5, 6, and 9 will be solved leaving only layers 2, 3, 7 and 8 to be tackled. This is the next level up in solving, but still no parity is seen. This is because returning it to a cuboid form is a reductive process that can only proceed in a certain way. By following the process, pieces cannot be reduced incorrectly or in a way that couldn't be scrambled into. This will be contrasted with the next set of shapeshifting cuboids, the bricks and the floppies, which can be reduced incorrectly and hence give parity.
