THIRD EYE CHAKRA
The Third Eye is the sixth chakra, located between the eyes at the brow level. The Sanskrit name for this chakra is आज्ञा, “Ajna” which means to command. It is associated with the pineal gland and the element for this chakra is “light.” There is a relationship between light and the mysterious pineal gland: light dictates the production of melatonin from the pineal gland, which supports our circadian rhythms, sleep, and dream life.
The sixth chakra governs intuition, visions, open-mindedness, dreams, understanding, psychic abilities, intellect, discernment, and wisdom. We look within to enter a world of knowing. We recognized that we have infinite knowledge already inside of each of us.
“OM” is the master mantra. Chanting “OM” can direct vibrational healing and balance to this chakra, and the entire body.
We recommend chanting along with this video while closing your eyes, visualizing the color indigo, and trying to locate the sound and vibration of your voice in the center of the lower forehead, where this chakra resides. Breathe deeply into this area and every time you say “OM,” imagine a vibrant and mystical indigo light energizing and healing this visionary sixth chakra. If you prefer to keep your eyes open, imagine the indigo pattern extending beyond the screen and into your third eye chakra.
