I can understand that people may be distrusting of the executable provided in the releases for my program. I can assure you that they were built using only the icon, and the Python file available in the GitHub repository. It was built with PyInstaller, which is a Python module used to generate executable files from Python programs. If you want to be certain that the binary provided in the release is from the repository, you can feel free to build the executable yourself using the aforementioned PyInstaller module. Be advised that if you do not use the same ".ico" file when building the binary, and you calculate a SHA-512 hash from the product, the digest, most likely, will not match the one provided in the repository. Please do not distribute any files that you build on your own accord.
Also, there is mention of this issue in the program's "README" file, but the executable may trip a few different antivirus modules, namely Windows Defender. You can safely allow it to run without concerns. I will try to fix this problem by release 1.0.1.
After making this video public, I was asked a valid question.
Q: "what's stopping you from yoinking ppls passwords on ur app"
A: "If you look at the program's source code (in Vortex-Crypto-1.0.0.py), you can see that there are no network modules whatsoever, nor is there any way for the program to connect to any external server. You can verify that the executable provided in the release was built using *only* this Python file and the Vortex ".ico" file, by building your own version of it using Python 3.8.5, and PyInstaller 4.0. Calculate the hash of the executable afterwards, and assuming you did it correctly, the hash should match the one provided in the repository."
