How do you go from being virtually unknown to having access to some of the biggest named celebrities, athletes, and thought leaders that exist? To be able to interview the likes of Tony Hawk, Russell Brand, Shaquille O'Neal? 🤔 If you don’t know how to grow your network, how to connect with high level influencers...well you are going to find out how today. One of the things that have contributed to my success over the years is the ability to build a solid network. I am not the greatest at showcasing some of these connection tips so, I wanted to bring in an expert to help you out. Jordan Harbinger, you may know him from the Arts of Charm podcast. (www.jordanharbinger.com) He has his own show now called the Jordan Harbinger Show. One thing I have been really impressed with is Jordan’s ability to connect with some BIG names. Jordan has a lot of great information and I knew talking with him would be a great addition to this channel. I hope you enjoy Jordan’s tips: 😎 ✳️ So Jordan, you started a podcast over 12 years ago, why did you choose podcasting over any other thing out there. 🎤 ‘Yeah I started my podcast over 12 years ago and now my voice is heard millions of times each month. Why podcasting? I don’t think it is a great medium for business or for making money. But I was having lots of interesting conversations where we were sharing great information. So I started recording these conversations.” ✳️ You have been able to interview some amazing people, how in the world have you landed these A-List celebrities? 🎤 “I networked my buns off! I always introduce people to each other inside of my network. People that can benefit from each others information and services.” ✳️ When you are in the midst of interviewing some of these big names, do you ever have to pinch yourself and wonder how you got to that position. 🎤 “Well, by the time I’ve done my 8-10 hours of show prep, I’m not nervous anymore. My mission is to be one of the best interviewers in the world. I’ve put in the hard work and I feel my show is a worthwhile place for a celebrity or non celebrity to be there.” ✳️ When you initially started making contact with some of these high profile people, was there ever a time where it just didn’t work out? 🎤 “There are times where I have connected with people and things didn’t work out. There was a time that I was trying to connect with someone and just couldn’t get a response. I reached out to the publicist and learned that he had passed away.” ✳️ There are many people that want to connect with potential mentors or successful thought leaders in their niche. What is your #1 tip for how to connect with these people? 🎤 “I think the #1 steps you can take towards making that connection is to figure out how you can add value for that person. You have to find out what that are interested in personally and professionally. Introduce them to people that they ‘should’ know.” ✳️ What do you typically see is the #1 mistake people are making when they are trying to make that connection? 🎤 “Honestly, when people are asking ‘what’s in it for me’. Also, people that are not putting in the work before hand. If there is someone that you have been talking to for 3 years (that’s never asked for anything) - suddenly needs a quick favor, you are more likely to help that person.” ✳️ One of my biggest pet peeves is when someone contacts me with the subject heading of ‘Can I pick your brain.’ What is one of your biggest pet peeves. 🎤 “My biggest pet peeve is when someone is trying to connect and they act like they are entitled to my time. If you haven’t heard from me in a couple of days, don’t send me a grumpy email to follow up.” ✳️ What is one last connection tip you have for us? 🎤 “One last connection tip, I have a lot of drills that I will take you through for free.
