BMW N45TU engine is common for BMW Series 1 and BMW Series 3 ( E87 and E90). How to replace BMW N45TU connecting rod bearings, new piston rings and new timing chain guides and timing chain , check in this new video. BMW N45 engine is mostly installed on E87 BMW series1, E90 BMW Series 3 . It has 1.6L and 115hp with no valvetronic! First action is istalling of engine N45TU piston rings , then once the piston rings are installed you can engage conecting rods with piston pins. Piston pins must be locked with circlips . BMW engine N45TU cylinder head was already surfaced and ready for this N45 engine rebuild. Then can be installing valves and new valve stem seals , by using a special compression tool. All BMW N45TU connecting rod bearings are replaced with new ones. In this video you can see , how new and old connecting rod bearings looks . By using piston ring special compression clamp the pistons can be installed in engine N45 cylinder head . Do not forget during the N45 engine overhaul, that piston arrow should point the timing chain. Use the torque rench spanner to tight the connecting rods as per manifactory instruction manual.The new N45 cylinder head gasket must be installed with required tighting torques. Rocker arms and hydraulic lifters are next steps during this BMW N45TU Engine Overhaul. After this , BMW engine N45 camshafts and camshaft bearings can be installed , then install N45 oil pump.
