This mr cool mini split diy unit is awesome! We were looking for a solution to heat and cool a pretty big bedroom over a garage. An HVAC company said that a mini split would be perfect and the price would be between $5,500 and $6,000!

We looked for a more affordable solution and we found the DIY Mr. Cool Mini Split.

Cons:
The directions aren't the easiest to follow.
We will make another video where we show the installation process.

It does take a while to install, depending on where you want to install it.
The bedroom we were working on had very thick walls and it is necessary to drill through the walls to install the unit. Also, this unit has refrigerant lines that are very long, about 25 feet. These cords cannot get kinked, so it takes 2 or 3 people to gently straighten them out and not bend them.

Pros:
The cost, very affordable, we saved about $3,000 installing this unit ourselves! There is an additional fee for hiring an electrician to hook this unit up to your panel, but an HVAC company would add that on as well.

Works great! The room this is in is perfectly controlled, both heat and A/C, keeps the entire room completely comfortable.

Whisper quiet! This really blew us away. You can barely hear it when it is running, unlike many noisy hotel units we have encountered in the past.

It also comes with a convenient wall mounted remote control that is simple to operate.


We would definitely recommend this product for anyone who needs an additional unit to heat and cool a room.
