Located just east of the Harpers Ferry National Historic Park entrance on the north side of Highway 340, St. Peters Cemetery rises above the roadway with rows of historic headstones. No different than all the other private, church, and municipal cemeteries scattered across the United States, the government-furnished veteran headstones and grave markers within these hallowed grounds are covered in filth, thick black algae, and too many years of neglect.
