Today we are going to learn how to play "Sweet Dreams" by Eurythmics on the Ukulele in the chord melody style. This is a classic song that revolves around a three chord loop and it has a very nice melody that mostly revolves around essentially 3 notes. Having said that they move over three chords and the change in the chords make a relatively simple melody come alive. One of the cooler parts of this song is the break where it goes "keep your head up, movin' on" and that part is a TON of fun to play on the ukulele. There are some really cool chord shapes and some really cool ideas, one of them is going up to the 12th fret on the A string and play it against the open A string and then go all the way down to the 5th fret and it sounds really really cool and it is a ton of fun to play.

We will walk you through all the pieces of the song, the chords, intro bass riff, verse, and the break and once we have all those pieces we will put it all together. With chord melody songs ultimately it is up to you how you want to arrange it, how many times you want to play the verse, etc, I usually play shorter versions with the chord melodies. As always the tutorial has the full play-along and all the pieces of the song, you can learn them one at a time and then put it all together to enjoy this classic songs! Enjoy!
