This morning I greeted my mother and then went down to the stream to wash clothes. I hung the clothes on the drying rack I made for my mother yesterday. I said goodbye to my mother to pick some dong leaves to make banh chung that I intended to give to poor children in the village. My mother and I quickly started making beautiful cakes.
On a cold, windy afternoon, I met a group of children in the forest huddled around a small fire. I approached the children and asked, then cut small pieces of cake and gave them to eat. Seeing children in difficult circumstances eating well, I feel very peaceful in my heart
After the meal, I said goodbye to the children and promised to see them again soon. On the way home, I thought about how I could help improve the lives of these disadvantaged children?
