Let's Play Ravenloft Stone Prophet #40: How Not to Make Enemies Difficult смотреть онлайн

This is my first ever playthrough of this game. Kindly avoid posting major spoilers in the comments.

As we begin to explore the endgame dungeons of Stone Prophet, the enemies have reached a peculiar point where they're not at all difficult to defeat and barely land a blow against us but still manage to slowly rack up harm upon the party. How they're doing this is something that I don't especially like, a low damage fireball cast at the party upon their defeat. The damage dealt is tiny most of the time and can be avoided with clever positioning, but it turns off the regeneration of our troll friend and eventually forces you to heal and rest when you otherwise wouldn't need to.

Care has to be taken to ensure that the late game of a D&D RPG doesn't have the party mowing down everything they encounter with absolute ease, for that would quickly become dull. On the other hand, fireballs upon defeating enemies isn't the way to go about making things challenging. What the game needed at this point was a smattering of very tough enemies to pair up with the doom guards, shadows and grave elementals we're up against. Imagine what a spellcasting greater mummy would do to an encounter or something like a bodak.

...Okay, maybe I don't want to be facing bodaks, but you get the idea.
