http://ecigfind.com This is for all those vapers out there who are on the brink of giving up vaping because either they are tired of the burnt/metallic taste they get using filled cartridges, or are bored of getting only ten puffs on their PV before having to drip again and again. I too was ready to give up vaping a few weeks ago until I discovered a couple of simple techniques which I hope will help you too... You will find out how to adapt your atomiser with a thin wire mesh that holds more liquid, so that you can drip more into it without it flooding, and get 20 mins vaping time on your PV without having to fill up all the time. Because of the shape of the mesh and close proximity of it to the atty coil, you should also get better quality flavour and vapour, too. I am using a 510 atty and cart case here but I guess you could apply this mod to any atty that has similar internal workings. Video Outline: PROBLEM 1: The Burnt Taste. SOLUTION 1: Get rid of the burnt fiberglass wick inside your atty and the bridge. I only go over this briefly in the video- for a more detailed description of how to de-wick and de-bridge your atty, first watch these two great videos and follow the steps using OLD atty to practise on first, NOT a brand new one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ap1c4EwKRAY http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sDQ-xcfYFHM PROBLEM 2: Your newly modified and stripped 510 atty shell works just fine, but it keeps flooding and can only take 2 drips at a time. SOLUTION 2: Follow these steps which I outline clearly in the video: 1. Take 2 pipe screen filters (you can get these at any decent tobacconist's-cut to size if too big-should be about 2cm in diameter) 2. Double them up and cut a slit from rim of circle to centre. 3. Form a cone and squeeze just enough to tighten the cone but not so tight that there is no airflow or that cone is so small that it is jiggling about inside your atty- you dont want it to fall out! 4. Now blunten the sharp end of the cone to form a bullet shape (too sharp and you may damage the coil). Making the end blunt also increases the surface area of the cone that is in contact with the coil. 5. Push the pipe screen filter gently into the atty chamber so the base sits snugly on the coil. There should be a 2mm gap between the top of your filter and the rim of your atty. 6. Check for a flush fit with an EMPTY cart. If you are using regular 510 cart you will need to cut it short just below the ridge, so it doesn't push too hard on the metal filler. 7. When you have a nice snug fit, drip 2 or 3 drops max onto your newly modified atty and try to drip onto the top rims of the cone so that all of the mesh is wet and not just the lower portions 8. Let this sit for a minute or two to let the liquid dissipate, maybe give it a bit of help with a paper clip or whatever. Attach your battery and take a few puffs only then repeat until liquid starts to dissipate, then add a little more liquid (thicker liquids work better). FINALLY...Be patient when filling for the first time- the pipe screen cone will hold a lot of liquid but it needs some love and nurturing to do its job properly. Make sure you are getting enough airflow and that there are no gurgling sounds. If there are, you are going too quickly. If you do flood the cone/atty, just remove and wipe the cone with a paper towel, blow through your atty to drain it, and start dripping over again.
