This is also part of Minecraft Bedrock and Java Edition working on parity, as Bedrock Edition has had experimental features for a while now. With that being said, this video will show you how to use experimental features in Minecraft Java Edition. One thing worth noting is that we do recommend playing the latest snapshot version of Minecraft in order to get the most up-to-date experimental features possible. This can be accessed by going to the Installations tab in the Minecraft launcher and enabling Snapshots in the top right. A latest snapshot version will appear. Hover over this, and you click play to launch the most recent Minecraft snapshot version. Once you are in Minecraft, we will need to go into Minecraft and create a new world. Currently, you can only add experimental features to new worlds. In the new world creation screen, click on ‘Data Packs’. In the Available section, you will see all of the Minecraft experimental features you can enable. There will be multiple of these. To enable the experimental features, hover over them, and click the arrow that appears. They will move to the Selected section. When you click ‘Done’, you will get a warning that you are enabling Experimental Features for your Minecraft Java Edition world. Keep in mind that you may not be able to update your world, and your world may break if you use these. Click Proceed, and the click ‘Create New World’. You will again get a world about the experimental features. Click the ‘Yes’ button, and your Minecraft world will start generating with all of the experimental features enabled.
