Darksiders 2 Walkthrough | Karkinos Boss Fight

This is a short Darksiders 2 walkthrough involving the Karkinos boss fight, which is actually among the simplest of boss fights in the entire Darksiders 2 game once you figure out the mechanics (which may take a minute without instruction).

The key lies with the tan ball that drops from the ceiling repeatedly between charges from Karkinos. Take the ball by gripping it with E and use the mouse scroll wheel to shoot it directly at Karkinos after he charges and is in a hunched over position.

Otherwise, Karkinos cannot be damaged. This is due to (I assume) his thick shell that oddly enough protects his entire body, even his front. So take the ball and continually hit Karkinos, and that is when one of his minions will spawn from the broken ball.

It's important to kill this minion FIRST, so that he does not knock you down while you are unloading on Karkinos. Afterwards, hit Karkinos with all you've got (likely with a secondary attack assuming you have a powerful weapon) and watch his health drop quite quickly.

I used raw video to show some simple mistakes that I originally made so that it can give you an idea of some pitfalls of the fight. Once you understand the mechanics, however, it's really quite easy to take down Karkinos in a quicker timeframe than the video.

This is definitely one of the more imaginative fights in Darksiders2 up until this point, as the rest have really been 'tank and spank' with a pervasive dodge element. In other words, you just run around and dodge their attacks and assault them after they're exhausted or stuck on terrain or something. Karkinos is quite unique even for action games in general.
