Join self-taught dried flower artist, Vicky Crawford as she works with home grown, harvested and locally foraged flowers and foliage from her rural base in Buckinghamshire. In this session Vicky will teach us how to select and weave a combination of dried flowers and foliage into a half moon design on an 8 inch macrame hoop, embellished with feathers and a velvet ribbon. **PRIOR TO THIS SESSION** Get out into your garden and hedgerows or local forest and forage flowers and foliage (noting to only forage where you have permission from the landowner and/or where there is an abundance of growth). Hang them upside down (if still fresh) in a dark, warm room with ventilation for 1-2 weeks. Consider buying or borrowing the book ‘Everlastings’ by Bex Partridge. You will need: 8 inch macrame hoop A selection of autumnal dried flowers and foraged foliage (e.g. achillea cloth of gold, nigella seed heads, carthamus, wheat, oats, barley, linseed) pheasant or cockerel feathers 50 cm velvet ribbon 1 metre length of raffia Want to see more classes like this?
