Thank you for watching, I hope you guys are having a great summer! There are so many things I learned while working at McDonalds. A lot of times people treat McDonalds employees rudely because they think if you work at McDonalds, then you must not be a capable person. That is just so far from the truth. The people I’ve met while working here are some of the most hardworking and good-hearted people I’ve ever met. People just want to be treated with respect and work with dignity. They want to work their ass off day in and day out and be paid fairly. They want to work full time and be able to support themselves and their families. In the richest country in the history of the world, no one should have to work full time and live in poverty. The workers in the restaurant are the blood and sweat of the business. The success of the business is because of the workers. They are the backbones of every successful business. The workers work way harder than any of the “supervisors,” and they should be treated fairly and paid fairly. The corrupt politicians need to stop taking money from corporations, and they need to raise the minimum wage. In 1965, the average CEO made 20 times more than their employee. Today the average CEO makes 300 times more than their employee. In some companies the CEO makes over 1,000 times more than their average employee. The giant wealth inequality in America is not talked about in the media because 90% of the media is owned by 6 corporations, and these corporations are in favor of this inequality as it benefits them, so they suppress the narrative from being reported on. Hopefully the rise of independent media and social media will educate people enough so that our generation can rise up and enforce change. There were more stories not included in this video. While I was on break one day, I met Doug. I bought two bagel sandwiches, and since I saw he wasn't eating, I gave him one. I asked him about his family and his life. He was almost 40 and he has 7 kids. He had 5 kids with his first girlfriend and 2 kids with his second girlfriend. Do not be quick to judge his character, however. When I dug deeper I found out he had been with his first girlfriend for 15 years when she left him for another man. It broke his heart. "I would of never left her," is what he said. She came back 2 years later wanting to get back together, but at that time he had already found his second and current girlfriend who he is in love with and has two kids with. So he declined. You're a great guy Doug and I hope you live happily with your current girlfriend. I met Shenna, who is a manager, because I often worked for her shift. I enjoyed working with her because she is not unnecessarily bossy. The people who are unnecessarily bossy do not understand how to be a leader. She works so hard every shift, one time I had to run to the gas station to buy her a couple of pain killers because her back was hurting. I believe she has 2 kids, who she loves dearly. She is such a good mother and she is a role model I look up to. The government took away her Medicaid, which is her medical insurance. The State governments, especially in the South, are always looking for ways to screw the working class people. Her dream is to start her own salon business, cutting people's hairs and making people look beautiful. She just graduated beauty school and is now saving up to get her own salon store. I believe in you Shenna. I met Joe because he was a coworker who I often worked with. He was the 15 year old guy I talked about. He works 3 jobs and never complains. He is saving up to buy a car soon. I gave him advice on colleges and took him home from work a few times because his mom would often be hours late or not show up at all. His mom charges him for gas every time she picks him up or drops him off at work, and he has to pay bills in the house. Her way of parenting is a bit extreme, but if you're the product of this kind of parenting, I might have to consider parenting my kids in the future this way as well lol. You have such a bright future Joe. Just try to stay away from all the fights. I met Ryan because he was the store manager who hired me, and he often supervised me while I was working. He was only 26 and has worked for McDonalds since he was a teenager. He moved up the ladders so quickly because he is a hard worker who aims to be the best at what he does. I would often help out his labor costs and work off the clock for free. I already talked about his story in the video, so I'll keep this short. I hope you find a loyal girl who will dedicate her life to you. I hope you will come around and trust others. I hope you won't be so stressed anymore. I hope your dream of one day owning a McDonald's comes true. Thank you for hiring me and good luck on your future.
