When filling wood, I always use a 2 part wood filler, because the setting time is so much faster than a 1 part filler, which means you can carry on with the repair without waiting 24 hours for the filler to set!

There are a lot of 2 part wood fillers on the market, and they pretty much all have the same properties - they tend to come in a tin, with a separate hardener, and mixing spatula.

I recently came across a NEW 2 part system - Metolux Pre-Mix 2 Part Wood Filler, and this is what I'm reviewing in today's video.

This filler comes in a tube, which I think is pretty unique for a 2 part wood filler. So you just need to get hold of an applicator gun, which you can pick up in any DIY store for under £10.

For applicator guns, I favour a heavy duty gun like this https://geni.us/isb4 (Amazon) *, as the really cheap, light weight guns tend to break.

This wood filler is great because:

- it's re-usable (simply screw the cap back on after each use)
- it's styrene free, so you don't get that strong smell you associate with 2 part epoxy wood fillers
- it's incredibly easy to use
- because the filler and hardener is squeezed out in equal quantities, you get complete consistency of hardening time, and don't have the problem you get with 2 part systems in a tin where you've used up your hardener and still have loads of filler left!
- it comes with a mixing nozzle, which removes the need to mix the filler, and means you can pipe it into cracks and holes
