How to Change Viewport Background Color in Maya (2018) Hi! I'm Kay! In this short video, I'm going to show you how to change the scene view background color in Maya. Go to Windows - Settings and Preferences - Color Settings. And click to expand 3D Views Tab. You can adjust these sliders to lighten or darken these colors to get the result you want. Press save or if you are not happy with what you've done just press Reset to Saved. If you are not happy with these preset colors, click on that color box to bring up the swatch. Here you can click to select the color you like. You can open this drop down to select the color mode. Select RGB for example. If you know the specific color and its values you can insert those values to get the result. To keep these changes take your mouse pointer away from this dialog or click somewhere outside it. If you don't want to keep changes just press escape on your keyboard. This is how you change the viewport background color. There's also a keyboard shortcut for toggling between preset viewport background colors in Maya. Press Alt+B on your keyboard to toggle between preset backgrounds. I hope you like this video.
