Once cake is cooled, remove the crust of the cake with a sharp knife, to avoid any lumps. Crumble the cake thoroughly in a large mixing bowl (if you like you can use food processor). Once cake is crumbled as finely as possible, take frosting, a heaped tablespoon at a time, and begin mixing it in with the crumbs. Mixing until you have a fudge-like texture. To see if it's ready, squeeze a little of the mixture in your palm - it shouldn't crumble and it should be pliable. (If your kitchen is very hot, place mixture into refrigerator to chill for about 30 - 50 minutes). Use heaped teaspoon or measuring spoon to make even size cake pops. Roll small pieces of mixture, about the size of a Ping-Pong ball, and roll into a ball with your palms. Place on the tray lined with baking paper. 4. Melt small amount of candy melts on top of saucepan with simmering water. Take a lollipop stick and dip one end about 2 cm (0.78 inch) deep into the melted candy. Immediately insert the stick into the center of each cake ball, about halfway through. Place on a tray lined with baking paper to set. Place tray into refrigerator until we prepare candy melts for melting. 5. Prepare the candy melts. To melt the candy melts: work with one color of candy melts at time. Place 400g (1 bag) (14.1 oz) candy melts into heatproof bowl, place on top of saucepan with simmering water and stir with spoon. If you like to melt candy melts in the microwave then place in a microwave-safe bowl, heat in the microwave on medium power for 1 minute. Take out and stir. Place back in microwave for a further 30 seconds, stir again. Return to microwave for a further 30 seconds, then give a final stir. Add 1 - 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil per 400g (1 bag) of candy melts. Work enough oil into the candy with spatula to create silky consistency. Pour into mug or deep bowl (it is make easy to deep cake pops). Stir at regular intervals while working, it should keep from hardening. Candy will stay melted for about 20 - 30 minutes. 6. Dip cake pops into prepared candy melts, gently tap the cake pop over the bowl to remove any excess candy. Place into Styrofoam and allow to dry for 1-2 minutes. Decorate by sprinkle or press various sprinkles, sanding sugar and decorations of your choice, then place the cake pops into Styrofoam to set. Makes about 30 cake pops.
