How to locate the 12 volt battery on any year Lexus CT200H hybrid car. The exact same procedure for any year 2011 2012 2013 2014 2015 2016 2017 If you need to check or replace your battery this will show you how to remove the panels required to access the battery.

The 12V battery in the Lexus CT200H and Toyota Prius is an AGM type battery or Absorbent Glass Mat lead acid battery. They are typically more expensive than standard lead acid batteries. They are more capable and required to handle the amount or cycles they are out through by the hybrid system. Mine was $210 USD in late 2021, the Super Start Platinum Battery Group Size S46B24R. Important to note is the external gas vent, as the gases from the battery need to be vented out of the vehicle.

---Location Description---
The battery is located in the trunk area on the right side. You will need to remove a folding split panel false floor panel, which is surprisingly lightweight. It has a handle latch near the bumper you pull to release it.
Underneath that is a large foam insert that has a first aid kit in it and the spare tire and tools below it, this simply lifts out.
Remove the false floor side panels to the left and right of what you just removed. These panels are somewhat triangular.
Underneath the right one is plastic storage insert the same shape as the above panel, lift this out.
The battery is now visible in the far back right corner.
Remove one final plastic panel above the battery by pressing the two tabs on the top edge.

You can jump-start the car from here if you want, but there is another location much easier to reach under the hood.

The 12V battery on my car lasted for about 7 years.

Important to note that this is not just a normal lead acid battery this is an AGM battery. They cost more than the basic batteries but it’s important that you get the right type. If you don’t get the right one it will not last very long.
